Not BBQ but Chili

TCA 3rd Annual Newman Robinson Memorial Chili Cookoff

When: Nov 18th Sunday Noon til 5 PM
Where: Lonngegan's Sports Pub and Grill (corner of T-26 and Mid Cities
Blvd. Hurst, TX)
How: Show up with 25 bucks and cook a pot o Red. No yankee chili
allowed. No beans..rice..noodles..hunks or floaters etc. No
canned..frozen or prepared mixes. Must be cooked in the open in
plain view. Boyscout stove works well. Pets and RV's welcome.
No hookups.
End result: Paying back at least 80% of the entry fees and all of any
added money or prizes. The fella who owns the place usually
kicks in an extry 150-200 to be divided up amonst the winners.
Awards up to 10 places Be there or be square. Need judges too for them who is too lazy to cook.

Do y'all provide any supplies? Or is it up to us to bring the beer? :wink:

Chopped up Wendy Burgers, ketchup, a tad of chili powder (or 3 or 4 Wendy's chile seasoning packets) and a microwave. Sounds simple enough :wink: :lol:

Naw you dont got to bring no beer..they sell you some at Lonnegans or walk about 50 feet to the Hindu C-store. Its a lot cheaper:) We supply a turn in cup..palette cleansing snacks and bottled water for the judges..awards to the winners..including a nice hosses butt trophy for Dead *ss Last. Got a nice pic of it along with the lucky contestant who won it previously. Its up over on our webpage I think.

Liable to be the grand prize winner. Had a couple come out one time who grilled up some burgers over charcoal and used them. They hit in the money. Dont guess they had any secret packets.
