Is anyone going to this? I think it is one of the larger IBCA events...

This is a great event - expecting 100 - 140 teams this year.
Great payout
IBCA members that place in the top 15 of the 3 meat categories will received added money on top of the Promoter money.
If you aren't cooking, come out and judge this event.
Turn-ins start at 11:00 a.m. Sat. and Sun.
Hope to see you there

Just show up and ask to judge -
You will be instructed on how it is done before the category.
You will judge the meat on aroma, taste, texture, appearance and overall appeal and give it a score from 1 to 10 -- 10 being the very best.
Come on out - there will be a bunch of the best teams in Texas at the event plus teams from AR., LA., & OK and possibly other states.
Hope to see you there.

I had a great time judging! My only complaint is that I wish that I knew which entry was which after I was done judging. There were an entry of ribs that I would have liked to know which one it was. It was entry #14 at table A in the ribs quarter finals. Do you have a way of looking that up?
The brisket surprised me. Granted I was only judging the pre-lims, but it seemed that of the 14 I judged, none of them were really special. In fact, most of them were too dry. I was amazed to find out how many different ways brisket was prepared.
I look forward to more events!

Why didn't you introduce yourself --
There isn't anyway to tell who prepared any of the containers unless it was on the final table and that would be the winners.
There is an event at the KC Hall in Irving this coming week-end on Rock Island between Beltline and Story Rd.
It will be smaller and probably around 25 teams -- if you come out be sure and introduce yourself. I probably will be there.

1. Things were kinda crazy with people walking in and out of the judging cage wanting to be signed up.
