1st Solo Competion

Postby Ribeye Republic » Mon Oct 06, 2014 8:51 am

Cooked my first solo BBQ event this weekend my 8 year old daughter and we won Grand Champion. We cooked chicken, ribs, pulled pork and brisket on 2 Hasty Bake Legacy cookers. We placed 5th in chicken, 3rd in ribs, 1st in pulled pork and 3rd in brisket. Only 25 teams, but hey, you have to start somewhere. Thanks to Suckle Busters Cluck Rub and Hog Waller as well as Butcher's Pork and Brisket injection.

She worked had starting at 6am. She rubbed the brisket ribs and pork. When we got the checks she asked "daddy how are we going to split that."

That's awesome! Big congrats to you both! I can't think of a better way to spend some quality time than not only cooking together, but getting a GC to boot! My kids are almost 1 and almost 4, but I hope they take an interest in cooking with me as they get older.

Great job, again!
