Can some one post a pick of their CTBA rib turn in box?
How do you cut them???
We are doing a CTBA comp next month and I want to do some practice runs on cutting them. I did Liberty Hill a few years ago and was totally not prepared for the 23 pieces. I ruined 3 racks of ribs trying to cut through the bones with a meat clever and a hammer.

Re: CTBA Ribs box
I cut my rib bones with a ratcheting pvc pipe cutter. They cost $15-25 at any hardware, lowes, home depot. It is easy and doesn't mess up the finished look.
Something like this.

Re: CTBA Ribs box
These are not my ribs, I met a forum member at the Taylor Rodeo Cookoff and I took this photo of his rib box, he used a ratcheting PVC cutter to cut up the ribs.

I can see that PVC cutter working well.

Re: CTBA Ribs box
We used a cable cutter which is similar to pvc cutter. Makes nice neat cuts and goes thru them rib bones like butta! Easy.

Re: CTBA Ribs box
Do you cut them after they are done or before the cook?
Also, how does CTBA require chicken to be turned in?

Re: CTBA Ribs box
Cut them after cook but before glaze (covers up the little imperfections). The cutters work well, but I shed tears having to cut them up when we did Taylor, just doesn't seem right.

Okay, thanks. I understand, I think I'll feel the same way!
