New Pit now unloaded
I ordered a lyfe tyme with horizontal and vertical smoking chambers. It came in yesterday and they loaded it in the pickup with a forklift. I had a beer party and got the 575 pound beast unloaded and in the back yard. It is now curing with its first fire. I hope to smoke a whole beef round, brisket and pork loin tomorrow. I will try and take some pictures for you guys. ET

Congrats on the new cooker, (you might want to add it the gallery-link below). Are you watching the burn in for temp spikes?
PS: If you haven't done so yet, you may want to calibrate the thermometers, they can be off 30* from the factory.

Remove the thermometer from the cooker and bring inside. Fill a pot with water and bring to a boil.
In the mean time go to http://www.nakedwhiz.com/ceramicfaq.htm#calibrate and punch in your elevation and barometric pressure (easily obtained from local weather casts or on the net)
Now you know the boiling point of water where you live.
When the water comes to a boil stick the probe of the thermometer in the water. There will be a nut on the back of the fact of the thermometer. Turn the nut till the temp on face = what the boiling point number you got earlier.
Once calibrated, reinstall on the cooker.

If it is the stats from Lyfe Tyme they are not able to be calibrated. All I did with mine was use the boiling water test and saw how far off they were marked them and used them that way.
If there isn't a nut behind the face of the thermometer, I recommend that you run down to Lowes or HD and pickup some that are. They aren't that expensive.
