How about we say 5 unless the cooks meeting is for that then we can just meet say 30 minutes at the end of the cooks meeting. That will allow folks to get back and finalize some food.

Anyone wants to stop by, look for the 4 X 8 sign that says "Triple D Cookers" and has the Texas flag in the background... or the ol' "silver bullet" in the pic below...

From the looks of some of these rigs we are definitely the poor boys at this contest.

Had a GREAT time at this event! I will definitely continue to do KCBS when I can. Met a lot of great people and learned some things too! We were 19th, overall with 2nd Chef's Choice, 3rd Dessert, 3rd Beans, 10th Pork and 14th Brisket. Congrats to Triple D on his brisket call and nice check to go along with it. Also, congrats to Butcher BBQ, RGC, and American Dream, GC. Hope to see y'all again next year!

I can second this ... it was put together very well and we had a great time.
Glad I was able to meet you guys and David with Butchers in person.
We concluded our day with a 5th in beans (atleast the paperwok says it, not sure what team actually got the call lol), 9th in desert, 12th in ribs, 13th in pulled pork and a 3rd in brisket... I want to say we were 12th or 13th overall. Def a great learning experience if nothing else, we plan on being back next year if at all possible.

Congrats to all you guys on your walks and David's RGC

Yea this was good cook off. I enjoyed getting to meet a lot of the people from the forum. A little mist in the morning and a lot of sunshine in the evening. Thats the way I would have mail ordered it.

If you want to do a good KCBS contest don't let this pass by next year.

Had an awesome time. Finally made it home after getting stuck in the mud a fed times. Then we had a blowout on our rig and those who seen it can imagine how fun that was. So glad to be home on couch but it was an amazing time.

6th bean
4th open
5th desert
10th rib
18 overall

I will most def be doing this one every year. I wish we could get the sanctioning bodies in our area to adopt some of the kcbs methods. I went to the 4 hour judging class and I can tell u they are all about fairness.

Jtilk I got the 5th place call in beans but my sheet says 6th. Guess they messed that up.

This was a great cookoff and we will definitely be back next year. Sons of Barbecue ended up with 1st place chefs choice, 2nd place pork ribs, 12th chicken, 12th pork, 19th brisket, and 8th beans. good enough to put is 9th overall. I too wish that our sanctioning bodies would take up some of the KCBS practices. Even with the confusion at the podium the award ceremony was twice as fast as an IBCA event. I also like the printout so I know exactly where we stand. Congrats to everyone else who got to walk yesterday!

B&K- there is not telling. There were a few mix ups at the podium during awards but all in all I cant complain. Didnt cost us any $$, points or a trophy so it wasnt worth making a stink over.

The feedback on paper, in my opinion is a huge advantage over IBCA events. No guessing as to waht went wrong if you didnt get a call, it's all right in front of you.

Congrats to you guys and Sons of BBQ as well !!
