I think they said they have 35 or 37, paid, so far. Im getting ready for it. I can't wait to take this class too. They're having a concert, Friday night, and also some love music Saturday. I'm hoping to have some more info by next week.

Also, if you write where you heard about the cook off, on your entry form, they'll knock off the extra $50 they were going to charge after the first of the year.

bruno994 wrote:$300 to $350 seems pretty steep for a first year contest. Most KCBS events are anywhere from $200 to $250 if paid early. Some do have an upcharge for electrical hook ups though, which ya'll have 92 of, so maybe that was taken into consideration. I guess I'm just used to the normal $150 IBCA fees around here.

As he mentioned water and electricity is covered ... but there's also a guaranteed payout of $10K, for the size (if there are 30-40 teams) thats quite a bit more than a typical IBCA event.

The cook off organizers said there's room for vendors. If you're not going to compete, come out and sell your Q to the spectators. Vendor fee is $100.

Also, they will have ice, on site, and each team will get 20 pounds of I've for free. You can get the bag at any te during the cook off, since most team's coolers are full when they show up.

A local nightclub will be setting up a beer garden for Friday and Saturday night.

There will also be a concert, free of charge to the teams, Friday night and live music on Saturday.

I'm game. Not sure how to organize it though. Maybe just each team bring an appetizer? Kind of a pot luck but with finger foods?
