My new smoker
Well...not "new" as in right from the production line new, but rather new to me.
I picked it up on Craigslist for $50. The story behind this is that this guy had it custom built for him several years ago from a person who makes smokers. A couple of years back, he passed away and the smoker was left to his wife. His wife was moving out of their house and needed to get rid of the smoker. I contacted her and picked it up. The smoker was heavy (which I consider a positive sign)!
As you can see the outside was totally rusted out and needed some cosmetic work. After a couple hours of sanding, a couple cans of duplicoat high heat engine paint (1200 degrees) and a bit of elbow grease, I think Im almost done. Anyway, here are some before and after pics. I hope to get the thing fired up soon.
Thanks for looking!
Right from Craigslist
After I knocked off the rust scale and applied some rust jelly
Primed, ready for some paint
Added some new handles. Ready for some Q!

Welcome aboard, ikiru!
Coulda fooled me! If you hadn't said somethin', or just posted that last pic, I'd never have guessed! When you fire it up, please take some pics of it in action!
