New Johnson's Ultimate Patio Smoker

Postby k9paws » Fri Nov 15, 2013 12:02 am

I picked up my new smoker from Chad a couple of weeks ago but this is the first chance I've had to post some pics of it. Hope the link works out.
Chad made covers for the draft vents so I could use my Guru Digi Q2. The cover just slip on or off as desired. Only used it a couple of times so far, but have been very pleased with it.
Also pleased with the ongoing support from Chad. I've emailed him a couple of questions and he responded quickly with the answers.
Here's the link to the pics I hope: http://s1366.photobucket.com/user/k9paw ... t=6&page=1

Nice pit! S/F
If you go back to you album and change the settings and use the one for [IMG code] you can post individual pics right in your post. Some are paranoid to open links for fear of getting infected with a virus or mal ware.

Those racks in the vertical also rotate which is cool.

Damon

You can either get the racks in the vertical that rotate or the ones like mine that can be removed. I wanted to be able to take them so I could do a couple of turkeys or something while doing brisket and or shoulders in the horizontal smoker if needed.

Looks like you currently have no means of fuel elevation in your firebox?
Thanks for clarification on the racks. Semper Fi!

Damon
Just caught your post. The elevation problem was operator error. Put the darn thing in the wrong way. :(
I do better now.

Just ordered my own Ultimate Patio from Chad Johnson of Johnson's Custom Smokers out of Ennis, TX. Thanks for posting the pics! They're kinda hard to come by on google, but the close up detail was really helpful for me to pull the trigger. These days, Chad is making these without the rounded endcaps, which is not only cosmetic but also makes the firebox door better sealing. I think he gave me an 8-week ETA, plus shipping out here to the Left Coast. Hopefully by Aug/Sept I'll post pics of my pit as well. Thanks again for the pics!
