Thats how my safe is. Its really amazing how effortless these cookers are (R&O's and Pitmakers).

Between the safe, cube, vault, and fat girl you really cant go wrong with any of them. Itll come down to space and just personal preference.

I am a little lost on what is between the water pan & the Charcoal/Wood grate in this style of Smoker?

Is there a steel plate with a vent or does heat/smoke come around the water pan on 4 sides?

In the safe, its a welded plate on all sides. The heat and smoke come up a channel on the back wall from the firebox underneath to the top of the cook chamber. Then the heat and smoke travel down and exit through channels on each side from bottom of the cook chamber to the exhaust out the top. Have to think of it as a vertical reverse flow smoker.

Can't say I've ever heard anyone that bought one say they regret it.

I have a Pitmaker vault custom built with ball valves. It cooks like a dream.
Since buyin it, we have gotten 4/1st place, 2/2nds, 3/3rd finishes in just brisket this year with 5 grand championships. Never had this consistency before the Pitmaker BBQ vault.

Whats up JMONEY I saw some of your videos on youtube with your Vault; that thing is nice. I just bought a R&O Cube from Billy Saturday. Im powdercoating it today and try to season it this weekend. I like the Vault I just couldn't wait 2months for a pit. Those Vaults are some nice pits though.
