To buy or not to buy

Postby centxleo » Mon May 13, 2013 11:56 am

Hello everyone. Newbie here. I looking to pick up my first smoker and saw this used one listed for $1000. I don't know much about smokers so I'd like your opinions.

That is a lot of pit for the money. I'd say a great find.

If you got the cash and can swing it heck yea go for it. We've had ours about a month and we have had more fun family times around it than most of the other junk we have purchased. I find it relaxing to start the fire and get her running and just sit out next to it with a good book and a big glass of sweet tea.
Thank You to all the fine folks here for all the tips and advice so I can now smoke a chunk of meat and folks actually eat it.

Shoot yeah, hit that sucker with a wire brush, new coat of paint, and re-season the inside. Then it's worth twice that much.

Roll up with a truck & the necessary man power & offer $875.00. Not that a $1000 is not a good price but hey, ya got to haggle a little!

To buy or not to buy

Thanks everyone. I bought it! Guy didn't budge on the price but I'm still satisfied with the purchase. I'm going to take a wire wheel to it to get it ready for paint this week. I want to get it done before the weekend so I can start smoking some meats. I'll post a pick of it once I'm done.
