That's good to hear! My wife and I are going to join and start competing in 2012. How do you become a judge? That sounds like fun?!

Join LSBS....where do you live?....we will get you in contct with a head judge that is close to you and you will go help them at a cook off or 2...until you are confident enough to go on your own.....then you will become certified...Im going to send you a PM....be looking for it...

Re: Lonestar Barbecue Society
I joined LSBS in 2010. I have cooked in a few events that Lone Star has hosted all where good.
All the teams that I cooked around were very helpfull as well. Saying that always ask the head judge if you have a question. The head judges at the few I competed at all seem to be on que the same at each event.

I'll have to pencil one of these events in for next year. though I hear the judging co-ordinator is a redneck....
Considering Harp's, Jeff.. I'll holler at ya' by this weekend, I might need you to save me a spot if I go.
