What went down at the Prosper contest?

Postby worchard » Sun May 22, 2011 10:01 pm

I wasn't there but heard that the awards presentation was all messed up. Something about getting mixed up during the rib calls. Stopped to clarify and then came back with the Top 3 of brisket, then the top 3 of ribs and that was it. Not top 10, no final table, no GC or RGC. Anyone know what happened? Hate to see something get messed up at a charity event.

I am checking into this after receiving a phone call. I wasn't there so I don't really know what happened.

Cannot say for sure as far as the overall rankings. I know it was not GC because some local guy named Devin (heck of a guy) had a third and two firsts, while I only managed a 6th in chicken, (I think) 4th in ribs, and (I think) 6th in Brisket. Based on what I know it may have been an RGC or 2nd runner-up weekend...

I did manage a 5th in the jackpot burger category (do not know out of how many) so I may be either proud of myself or extremely dissapointed. I was originally called as the winner before the event coordinator realized he was reading the calls in reverse order so that was a little on the embarrassing side...

I do not think that I have any sanctioning gripes, however, feel that there was (hopefully) plenty learned by the folks putting the event on...

I wouldn't say hitting my stride as much as I'm getting lucky the last couple times out. Still struggling with some consistency issues...we'll know for sure where I am the next time I have to worry about you in the field...
