Grilling ducks

Postby CoyoteBlues » Wed Jan 17, 2007 2:56 pm

How do you guys smoke/grill your ducks ???

I marinated some in Lowerys Chipolte lime stuff the other day...wasn't too bad ...but it was store bought ....thought I would try and come up with my own....

I like the idea of chipolte and lime together ...but what can I use as a liquid base to mix it all up for a marinate...vinegar and oil maybe??

Any ideas???

Just the breast ...everything else goes into dirty rice  :D

Great advice...

But what the difference in brining and marinating???

I agree with the well done idea ...rare for me only

I remember spitting out bird shot whist I was a kid eating those things. Lead in those days was considered a vital nutrient, and playing with mercury from a broken thermometer was fun. Steel shot these days, and the Hazmat team shows up in science labs to clean up mercury- I know.

Anyway a long while back I smoked a duck. Wife hates duck, just my luck. Can't eat a whole duck by myself, so haven't done any duck cause I don't want to buck the Mrs. Even called my friend Huck to see if he was into Duck, he sat what the #uck! Someday, I'll buy a duck and tell the wife and Huck to $uck off and eat whole dang duck myself. 8) Unless of course that duck lived in muck, played with pucks, then that duck would just suck. Time go tuck the Mrs into bed.

Just make sure the duck is dead when you pull it out of the freezer!

Y'all see that on the news the other day?

I have not tried this but I thought it would be good to smoke a duck the "beer can chicken" style.

Has anyone tried this?

How did it turn out?
