I was just thinking with Sterno... maybe the firebox is too small? Is it big enough to get the heat up?
Well I have to try it next weekend.

The firebox may be a little small, but it should work. You may just have to tend it more often to keep the heat up.

I think you'll be ok with some good lump charcoal that burns hot.

did you go through the firebox ratio calculator? i think you can find it on the smoke ring if not here.

Just to check temp, run it to the limits and see if it works. Hopefully preparing some PP and BBR on Saturday.
