How to post a picture

Postby Gator » Sat Feb 17, 2007 10:05 am

1. Post a picture as an attachment (preferred):

While posting, look for the "Upload Attachment" section below the text entry box. This feature will allow you to browse you computer for the file (picture) you wish to attach. Simply select the file you want to attach and click "add the file". you may also add a comment if you like. This is the simplest and fastest way to post a picture and will embed your picture in the post.

2. Post a link to a hosted photo site:

I use PhotoBucket, however there are many other choices;
- http://photobucket.com" target="_blank
- http://www.imageshack.com/" target="_blank
- http://www.tinypic.com" target="_blank
- http://allyoucanupload.webshots.com" target="_blank

* Please keep your photos to a reasonable size.

The Basics:
I will use PhotoBucket in my example. This example assumes you already uploaded the pictures to Photobucket. Keep that window open.

While Posting a New Topic on the TBBQF:
1. Go to your photobucket window.
2. Select the picture you want to include and click the box below that is labeled "IMG Code" This will copy the image code onto your Windows clipboard.
3. Go back to the TBBQF window.
4. Place your cursor where you would like to picture to appear in the post and then Right Click and hit Paste OR select Edit and then Paste.

BAM! A bunch of gobbleygook shows up in your post, this is HTML code (techie speak). Add you comments either above or below the code and preview your post and make any necessary changes.

Submit the post, you are done!

Hey Gator,

How come when I upload photo attachments, it tells me I can only load 3 photos? It seems I always have 4 or 5 I want to load. Thanks.

That's the forum software setting. If you use something like Photobucket or another hosting site, you won't have that limit.

The problem with a photo web site is when photos get moved or deleted by the posster, then when you look back at old posts, the are no photos. Thats why I always upload the photos to the forum itself.

And yes, I to would like to be able to upload more than 3 at a time when necessary instead of making several posts to get them all up.
