Lowes, Royal Oak Classic $5.99 15.4 Lbs
Says it has the ridges; I don't care. My Plum tree is in full bloom and it's supposed to be in the 20's Monday & Tuesday night. I'm fighting with fire, Propane, and whatever else I can think of.

I've Never Ever used this before, I strictly use Royal Oak Lump.Rambo wrote:Says it has the ridges; I don't care. My Plum tree is in full bloom and it's supposed to be in the 20's Monday & Tuesday night. I'm fighting with fire, Propane, and whatever else I can think of.
The " Ridge " thing might , just "MIGHT " hold some weight as far as helping start faster because I use these little firestarter 1" squares to start my lump when its windy out because I Refuse to use my Chimney unless there is Zero wind.
I noticed that if I light one of the other 3 sides without the " ridge " it without a doubt takes longer to get a good fire.
Curious as to how theses work ?

So does that make it the Ruffles of charcoal?
J/K
I think kingsford marketed ridges a few years back as making theirs faster to light. I’m sure you’d appreciate a fast lighting charcoal in these temps. I know I would.
Royal Oak usually makes a good product.
Stay warm!
Keep on chuckling all our friends to the north :)

The ridges are for a more uniform burn allowing air to freely circulate throughout the coals.
I love Royal oak charcoal.
And yes Kingsford introduced the ridges first bsooner75.
