Cooking Timer
My el cheapo Timer laid down the other day and I need to replace it with a better one but not too pricey. Any ideas as to what's best and easy to read

Re: Cooking Timer
I use the timer on my phone. Works great, but more and more often I just tell my Amazon Alexa to start a timer. There I can name them and I can have multiple timers running simultaneously. I can easy ask how much time left of the timer's. Easy, and I dont have to touch anything with messy fingers.

Re: Cooking Timer
Lavatools makes some of the best timers imho Emm. They don't cost much but have always had high ratings and best of all, they are Extremely easy to use.
You can go either a turn dial or digital, super simple and straight forward.
You can get them on Amazon, I just checked and its about 13$ for one of thier most popular. Its actually one of the top listed timers shown. Top one is also magnetic so u can keep it on ur fridge, it won't get lost.
Hope that helps.

Re: Cooking Timer
Yeah but if I know Emm, he's looking for something super simple, not that using Alexa is that hard but just because he likes old school. I don't see Emm using a Smart Phone with Alexa but who knows, I could be wrong ?

Re: Cooking Timer
Timer on the smartphone is simple. Just a standard app that is on most phones. Besides the phone is always in my pocket so i know where I have it. I don't like to have stuff on the kitchen counter so I would have to look in a drawer each time I need to use the timer.
Alexa is easy. Have one in almost every room in the house so super easy.

BINGO, I am digital/cyber illiterate and prefer it to be Old Skool which is simple for me - - - i.e. on and off switch with dial or buttons

Perfect, but I'd need it in Gothic and not Roman Numerals

Re: Cooking Timer
Have you looked at the Thermoworks line? They make really nice products and have different options available.

Re: Cooking Timer
I fully understand the technical issue, but it is very easy. You just have to be able to speak. Just say:
Alexa, set egg timer 10 minutes.
Alexa, set steak timer 1 minute 30 seconds.
This is what is shown on the Alexa box while the timers are counting.
There is a grocery chain here in Norway that has made a funny commercial about this. Their slogan has always been "simplicity is king".

Re: Cooking Timer
buy one of the $4 battery clocks at wally world, and set it to 12 even when you want to start timing, the rest of the time it does not matter, it is your timer clock.
Don't count every day, Make every day Count
