I took a chance on ordering some knives from a Facebook ad before Christmas. They came in yesterday. 3 bucks apiece. For around 35 bucks, how can I go wrong? Steel looks good, fairly sharp out of the box. Nice rubbery feel handles riveted in. Time will tell of course. 4 very nice looking steak knives and the kitchen knives

Re: Brandless Knives
Steak knives are really good, used them tonight.
The regular knives, on trying out a couple of them, needed some loving attention, so out came the Ken Onion w/blade grinder attachment. After 15 minutes, I had them to almost shaving. After a few days of use, I'll report back. They took an edge really well, like my 23 year old Henckels knives

Re: Brandless Knives
These are stamped blades, they will be brittle. They will take a good edge but it won't keep long, cut only on wood or plastic cutting boards. These will also rust (soon) if not properly cared for, definitely over time. Kinda hard to tell from the picture but, it looks like they balance a little far down the handle. Be careful of the rubber handles as they tend to get slick if they're bloody.
Worth a shot? I'd say. For a set of beater kitchen knives, the price isn't too bad at all.
