I'm needing a new grilling surface cleaning brush, anybody found the holy grail of brushes, I'm not too fond of plastic handles FWIW..

I make the mistake of reading up on folks getting bristle wires stuck in their gullets from crappy or worn out brushes shedding wires during cleaning...
Not much fun it seems.

If you have tubular grates the grill stones work good and no bristles to worry about. If you have expanded metal…not so much. They form grooves in the stone on the tubes which helps the cleaning.

My stick burner has expanded metal grate but I use a tiny webber for burgers and steaks which has the round bars, so the stone is also needed..

Weber makes one similar to what Okie posted, I have used a couple that look like that too but the bristles were a little flimsy, the Weber is very sturdy. The key is not to keep any brush too long and your less likely to have the brisltes come off and hurt someone. Next best thing I have ever used is a wire brush from a welding supply, those things last for ever and don't drop bristles.

I use wadded up tin foil in my smokers.

a ball of waded up foil in a pair of tongs on a hot grate works for me.

Even tho it does have plastic handle,
Char Broil's Brush Hawg has always done the job for me
SS bristles never shed and are replaceable.

Yeah I do but that is what I use the trimmings for.

I get a cheap, long handle wood type - abuse it, leave it out in the rain...ect. Then get mad when it breaks (duh) and start all over again.

The last one fell apart a couple weeks ago when I was banging it on the side of the grill...

Guess I need to rethink this....nah.

Don't tell this to anybody, but:

I hadn't seen this post so I bought this on holiday this summer. The most idiotic thing I've ever bought. Big and heavy filling up half my bag on the flight home, both in volume and weight.I love gadgets (probably why I bought it) this is completely useless.
