Anyone use Chiminea for burning wood down to coals?

Postby Smokin Stang » Fri Feb 25, 2011 6:48 pm

Just curious if the big green egg chiminea would be useful for burning wood down to coals for use in smoker. I would just use a drum but the wife wants something a little more decorative on the patio.

Thanks

I haven't but see no reason why it would not work. I have one and have never built a fire in it. Gotta give it a try. CF :D

When I set the cinder-block pit up, I use a 55 gallon drum with a hole cut out of the bottom front. Yup, the drum is ugly but so is the cinder-block pit. Lipstick on a pig thing.
