Does anyone know if you can get a wireless probe for your pit where you don't have to run the wire out of your smoker to the transmitter?
Thanks,
Dave

Re: Wireless Probes?
i've never seen one, it would require a battery inside the cooking chamber, to send the signal to the digital read out, If there was one, they would be very proud of it.
i do have a few that have a wireless remote, but there is still a wire on the probe connecting the meat to the main dohicky, then that transmits to a small receiver. (but i bet you knew that)

If your smoker is made out of metal, then what you are looking for won't work. The metal cooking chamber would shield the signal. I could see it working on a BGE.
