Postby Bigunsbbq » Mon Oct 22, 2012 10:56 am

Going to get started burning out barrels today and cleaning out using 3/4 intakes would ya reccomend having 3 or 4 intakes ? Want to try and build a couple before they do my back surgery so I'll have something to mess around with during recovery .it may slow me down but I be dang if it keeps me from outdoor smoking some Q !

I have three I can cook at 150 or 350 no problem. The next one will have 1- 2" intake.
Never met a cow I didn't like with a little salt and pepper.

3 is enough....... when I cook, only 2 are being used. One is wide open and the other is open and adjusted to maintain temp. The third one remains closed....

Thanks for the ideas I went ahead and put 4 in since I can close off what's not needed. Think I will put a 3in stack with a top mount damper to controll exhaust . Found a cool lid today in my shop was on a cast iron wash pot cooker my great uncle had buit it fits perfect, it's domed but about 4 inches . Thanks for everyone's help hope to get it fired up this weekend .

I have one 1-1/2" ball valve on mine. Will get to 250 in about 20 mins and usually runs about half open.
