Mini Drum Smoker

Postby xxfubarxx » Mon Jul 09, 2007 3:24 pm

I was digging around my dads shop and found a couple small drums. About 27" tall and about 13 1/2" Id. Anyone know where I can find a round grate that would fit inside ? The size of the drum makes it light weight and portable. I've been looking around and Weber, way back in the day, made some smokers that used the right size grates but they've been discontinued for a long long time. I can probably have some made but was trying to keep cost to a minimum just in case this experiment doesn't work out. I can see it now, camping with my whole little flock of nekid cornish hens sitting nekid on 6oz cans tanning inside it. :D

Weber still makes the Smokey Joe, Replacement grates (food & fuel) can be found at Home Depot or Lowes.

The small BGE uses a 13" but they're around $25.
