Ok I have a few questions for you all. FIrst off great site, ive been reading all the different threads and cant wait to get out from underneath this 18inchs of snow and start bbquing.
I want to build a pit and a UDS. I have researched the cinderblock pits and have decided that with my limited build ability that those would be best for me.
ALl of the sites I find for the cnderblock pits are great but they never give enough detail on dimensions and things like that. Has someone on here built anything like that?
As far as the UDS goes is there a step by step tuturial on how to build on somewhere on here?

Thanks guys i look forward to learning and contributing to this site

I just finished building my first UDS. Just got her seasoned today and man it does exactly like I hoped it would. I did a lot of research on them before I decided on exactly how I wanted mine built. Just search this site over and google UDS for different websites and images. I finally settled on just a basic UDS with no frills. I felt like I should just go with a design that is proven itself. I feel that the majority can't be wrong. (At least in this case) :) Good luck!
It's okay to disagree with me......you can be wrong if you want to. :P

Here is another view for you to check out I find it very helpful . One of my changes that I saw on another site is the 1/4 bolts to hold the grills are replaced with "I" bolts for more surface to contact the grills .

Can't have too much good information.
