Does anybody have a BDS or seen one used?

I was thinking about getting a smaller smoker for using around the house and was wondering how good they are.

I'm guessing you are talking about the BDS drum smokers Rocky Richmond makes and has sold for years. They are a basic UDS. They are good units, but you could build yourself a UDS for alot less money and have more features and better temp control. JMHO

I've built many different UDS's out of drums from 15 gal. to 85 gal. They all work good. You just need to decide which size you want and build one. They are easy to build.
