Ok so here's the deal, I am building a bbq trailer for backyard use, I ahve a pig rig already built out of a 275 gallon oil drum up right, with a food grade stainless spit.... I am building a double 55 gallon drum grill on one side ( easy 2 drums side by each ) on the other side I want to do the same concept but make it a smoker. Here is my question will one smoke box on one end carry smoke and heat through both drums?

I am basically looking to make a giant off set smoker but i am wondering if anyone has done this design or similar.

Check this rig out.

You might ask him how it works. I'm guessing there's a temperature drop across that length, but I dunno.

I doubt that a 55 gal drum will support the weight of a fire box. If that concept worked, you'd see a lot of them being made.

Yeah, probably have to frame it all up to support it all.
