BE WELL, BUT NOT DONE
Hank: "Do you know how to jumpstart a man's heart with a downed power line?"
Bobby: "No."
Hank: "Well, there's really no wrong way to do it."

IMHO - - the "only" way that will function "exactly" like he is describing is if it's in a windless enviornment (a total vacum would be preferable ) - - - the slightest breeze would turn that into a direct griller "OR" slow Smoker - - - but I could be wrong

OUP is right....
Just imagine that fire in a windy day; fresh norther blowing, dry leaves on the ground, dry grass on the ground.. I think you get the picture, an open uncontained fire is not going to be the tranquil music scene they are portraying. I am sure it has its place, I have had to put out to many range fires; so I am careful about things like that.
Red mesquite, dont know if such exists or not? I grew up in mesquite country but never heard it called anything other than just mesquite?
