Who used to Char-Broil Infrared 2-Burner Gas Grill?
I'm researching a gas grill and I'm consider buying Infrared 2-Burner gas grill. Can I convert this grill from propane to natural gas?

On my second one , first lasted almost 5 years, the sides rusted away from stainless grill body. Other than that i liked mine

I used to use a Char-Broil Tru Infrared grill. Mine was a 3 burner though.
Honestly, I'm not a fan. The grill always ran hot. I don't think I ever was able to get it below 450 degrees. The grill plates discolored so badly from the heat, they looked rusted too. To Char Broil's credit, they never actually warped though.

You could doubtless do worse with a cheap grill sold at Walmart, BUT if you can afford it, I'd really urge you to get a Weber gas grill. They're about the best of the big brands out there. More costly, but you get what you pay for. My parents left their's out on their deck (they live right on the snow line in the mountains) and it still lasted them 10 years.

I had one. the infrared pan burned out in about 18 months
within 3 years the steel housing that wasn't stainless rusted out
I rolled it to the curb
I did keep the grill grates i bought for the CB

Gas smokers... No thanks. IMO, that's not real smoking. Glad you had better luck with the Char Broil than I did though.

If I may step in with a comment, I truly think that using Gas is probably more of a life style decision than anything - - - those folks that fight the commute to work, getting the kids to and from school and maintaining a busy household need something that they can turn on, grill/smoke/etc then eat, help the kids with their homework and then off to bed - - - AND if they are lucky, they might just squeeze in a little time of their own to wind down and get ready to start all over again. The Gas Grill allows this better than having to tend a "fire" and then attend it until you're sure it's out and safe - - this is also sometimes done on the porch/deck of an Apartment Complex/Condos/Close Neighbors - - - - been there/done that/I can relate

OH, Ya wanna fight huh?!?
OK, so just to clear the air... I've got no issue with gas in general. I defended gas in that "Wood Rant" humor thread that Rambo posted. I've had some mighty fine food from gas grills too. My first grill was a gas one because I knew it'd be easy to learn on. Every review I've read outside of a site selling them though says that gas smokers are a poor alternative to wood or charcoal. That's all I was sayin'. You're right though, for time crunched folks needing convenience, they're a viable alternative.
