Weber Mini Kettle
We received this as a gift a few years ago and I turned my nose up at it. I now love it, just the perfect little cooker for burgers or staeks; we're doing 4 burgers this afternoon and it's perfect. I think they're about $30.

Re: Weber Mini Kettle
Use mine every week, this past weekend we cooked burgers Friday and steaks Sunday.
Very hard to beat these little guys for smaller cooks over coals, half a chimney makes a super hot fire and you can close the vents down to 1/8 and roast for two/three hours.

Chas, the last part of your post is what I can’t believe but it’s true. That one 3/4 chimney of charcoal will run 2 or 3 hours

Used ours tailgating a few times. It was a present many years ago. It’s great for firing up the chimney when I need to add coals to a cookerthats already in use!

Re: Weber Mini Kettle
With the cover in place and the vents set to 1/3rd to 1/8th it will indeed.
Perhaps the KIngsford "Ultimate performance professional competition" charcoal helps with the burn duration, but it's been years and years since I used regular Kingsford so I can't testify to how they perform compared to what I burn now.

Re: Weber Mini Kettle
I use mine all the time. They are great for just a few burger or dogs. I find I'm also always lugging it to wherever I'm grilling or barbecuing. It never hurts to have an extra grill around. I also use it to start my chimney. I hate all that newspaper floating around in my main grill or smoker. It is also how I started teaching my daughter to grill. Its more at her level. She calls it "her grill".

Re: Weber Mini Kettle
Time to ditch that stinky newsprint my friend, just rest the edge of the chimney over the outside edge of the Weber and stick a propane torch in the gap and flame away for about 30 seconds.

Re: Weber Mini Kettle
Put two of these under the charcoal chimney. Walk away. Come back in about ten minutes and you’re good to go. No mess, no paper ash blowing around
