how in the world would i get brush bristles in food that's still inside the kitchen?
my grates are 3/8" round stock and are stainless just like my brushhawg's bristles.
i dump my chimney, put on the usually filthy grate and let it heat for a while before
a quick swipe-
i'm more worried about pinfeathers than brush bristles...

Re: How do you clean your smoker?
I just scrub the grates with a brush after every cook and I scrape the big chunks off the reverse flow plate with a putty knife every 3rd cook, and it's all I do on my smoker.
