Pitboss Austin XL no longer available?

Postby shawn » Thu Jul 12, 2018 10:10 am

Hello, new to the forum but not to smoking. Had a masterbuilt that finally gave up the ghost. I ordered a pitboss austin xl last week which is due to hit my door next week. I went back into the site to look for a cover and noticed walmart shows the austin xl no longer available. Hopefully that isn't a bad sign for my new purchase!

PS Glad to be here and learn. Looking forward to moving from an electric smoker to a pellet smoker and getting higher temps!

Hopefully you got one of the last on hand. And hopefully the warehouse/store got a tight inventory sheet. You should be able to check the status using your order number I would think. Good luck and welcome to and enjoy the forum.

Well after a quick search seems that was a Wally World only design. So restocking will depend on a new contract with the manufacturer? I'd check my order # just to see what's up with it.

Pit Boss makes a lot of variations in their pits probably some specific to the retailer.
I wouldn't worry if Wally took your order they will deliver.
BTW I saw not more than 30 minutes ago one @ Lowes don't know if it is exact but it does look just like the photo.

Also I have a PB 820 and like it.(2-3 years now)

I know that when I got my PB 24, it was a Costco only model.

This is my first post, but have been reading the posts here since the first of the year.. Great knowledge and great information.. I’m a happy Pit Boss Austin XL owner out in So Cal.. I read the Original Posters question and did a quick search myself and found that on both Pitboss’s and Walmart online websites, the Austin XL is still available online and in WalMarts that can keep them in stock.. On a side note, the PitBoss Rancher XL is no longer available on the PitBoss online site, but is still available online in short supply..
