Need Help building smoker
I have a 11 foot by 42 inch oil tank . I need help with the fire box design and the smoke stacks

If you are looking for the size you would need, the fire box is usually 1/3 the size of the cooking chamber. Here is a great tool to use in making sure you get enough fire box, stack size and length and air flow inlets.

As far as design, that's a whole different monster. I would look at different pits and see what you like and what you don't. There are many different styles out there.
