Costco prime brisket
I picked up a nice size prime brisket at Costco yesterday for a guck cook I needed to get done. Finished about 430 this morning. I'll try these again. This one was ugly when trimmed and doesn't have a really defined point and flat. The taste is good but it's an ugly chunk of meat.
Thank You to all the fine folks here for all the tips and advice so I can now smoke a chunk of meat and folks actually eat it.

Should say quick cook I read the post twice before posting must be tiered to miss that spelling error. Going to bed now.

Re: Costco prime brisket
Looks pretty good to me.
I see Costco lowered the price back down on their briskets. Last one I picked up at our local Costco was $3.99 Lb. Good timing, heading there tomorrow to grap one for Halloween

13.5 lbs. on a Kamado Joe ... you say quick cook ... what temp and for how long? Looks anything but ugly to me!

You have to be very selective at Costco when it comes to briskets. I'll paw through all of them, looking for an acceptable point.

This is true. While the marbling is definitely better than the choice you see at the grocery store, you do have to look them over . The point and that hard hunk of fat. I like to pay for as little of that as possible.

I agree with you on the"ugly chunk of meat" and difficulty distinguishing the flat from the point.
Had same thing with the one I got. They were $3.69/lb here when I bought it.
