Postby Roipnol » Mon Aug 05, 2019 1:30 am

Hi, i have a question... I'd like to know how many lump charcoal by weight do you use for L&S (about 10-12 hr) in a vertical smoker as WSM or Fornetto Razzo.... Thanx for answers

Temperature on the WSM is controlled by the vents, not the amount of charcoal.

i know, but I would like to know, for example, at a temperature of 230-248 F, how much carbon is consumed in about 10 hours, up or down...

I have never cooked that low on either my 18.5" or 22.5" I can tell you at 275° to 300° you will go through nearly a full ring in 12 hours.

What k.a.m. said. Around 12 hours at 275 for me. Rarely use mine anymore. But they are good cookers. Have fun experimenting.
