The Pacific Northwet and Rust

Postby Okie Sawbones » Tue Jul 01, 2014 9:47 pm

!#$%^&*? rain up here rusts or molds up everything. I didn't want to let my offset die. I wanted to save ol' Betsy, so I stripped her with an angle grinder, buffed her with fine grain sand paper, covered her with three coats of high heat paint (four on the firebox), and oiled her insides, then put the heat to her. She purred like a kitten.

I wouldn't want to take that pleasure from you. It was a real PITA, but I'm glad I got it done. Only eight months until we move to Texas. :bounce:
