My wife's parents decided to upgrade my smoker from the same ECB I have been using for a couple years now. I'm familiar with the Trailmaster, but have never seen a vertical one. I'm pretty excited to try it out. Anybody have experience with this smoker? From my brief research it looks like i will need to seal some joints, and around the door. I probably will need to build a charcoal cage.

Hmmm new to me too.
The most prevalent issue I've seen on verticals is the smoke and heat want to take a straight path to the chimney and not move around and cook food.

Just smoked two brisket and two whole chickens this week. Hard to maintain temp and used a ton of kingsford and oak splits. Looks cool, but I'd take my UDS over this pit any day! Best of luck.
