Pulled a fast one on me

Postby 2PUPs » Sun Jul 15, 2012 7:45 am

Well yesterday while I was out doing errands , I get a call from the Boss , AKA wife , so she thinks . Anyways she says she`s going out shopping . So I get home , and an hr or so later she walks in the front door with a , blank eatn grin on her face . I was like , what you do now , put another dent in the truck , she said I better just go look at it . So now I,m thinking the worst . I get outside and look at the truck , low n behold this is what she got . She said while she was out looking for a new refrigerators which she picked out , thats another story and 1400 bucks later , she decided to get me this . She said she got it for about half price due to a flaw in manufacturing and it being a floor model , 150 bucks plus tax . Well anyways heres the smoker . Its not the best brand but me being able to weld I can have this up n running with no cost . If you look at left side of cooking chamber door you can see the bad craftsmanship .

Nice!! I would say your boss (and you may as well admit it, she is your boss  ) is a keeper. :laughing7:

Fire that rascal up and grill/smoke a treat for your boss.

Even with the leaks around the door she held at a temp of about 285 at top therm , so I`m guessn about 235 to 250 or so at grate level .

I guess I`ll keep her until she puts another dent in my truck :violent: As for the smoker mods , I will fix the out of square door , lower the exhaust to grate level , put two thermos at grate level , put fire brick or lava rock on bottom of cooking chamber to retain more heat , gasket material on doors , and a seal around the fire box and cooking chamber . Also going to make a metal container to place under the fire box just in case the little drawer decides to let loose . Any other ideas someone has would greatly be appreciated .
