I was wondering if any one of you have this pit. I heard its a really good pit, and is very efficient. I was just wondering if any of you feel the same way, and if their are any problems what are they? Thanks

I don't own the Vault but I have a Safe. Built by Pitmaker the Safe is the Vaults little brother. Great cooker and yes very efficient.

I have had my vault for about a year now and it is pretty awesome. Long burn times, super efficient, built like a tank. I haven't had a single issue with mine. They were a little hard to deal with during the build process, but once we finally got the pit we couldn't be happier.

Fullofbull. How does the safe hold temps down around 250°? I have been researching these pits for a while and my concern is keeping the temps down around that 250° mark. I have heard if you get up to 300 that its hard to bring the pit back down to temp. What is your experience with this?

If I cook with the Guru it does all the work. When I cook with out it I open the intake all the way and cut the exhaust back to about 1/4 when it hits about 235 or so choke the intake to about fingernail width and she rides just fine at 250.

It will hold 4 full packers about 16 lbs ea. or so or you can run 2 8-10# flats on each grate. There are 4 grates in the the pit. The grates are 20 1/2" deep and 15 1/2" wide so it will hold full size pans. Each grate is about 3 1/2" to 4" apart.

The Vault can hold somewhere between 10-15 briskets depending on size. It is 5 racks and you can do 2-3 per rack.
