Pit Input
Was looking to build another Pit, leaning towards doing a reverse flow this time, anyone have any pros or cons between reverse and a regular? If any help, using a 250 propane tank for the chamber.

Re: Pit Input
It's a matter of personnal preference; JamesB cooks on a reverse flow as well as several others on the forum. My brother-in-law cooks on one and does extremly well in comps.
I have built two of which I was dis-satisfied with both; my personnal opinion is they are fuel hogs, although they do turn out some extremely good Q.

Re: Pit Input
I am not an expert, but
The pit I build does not have tuning plates and is not a reverse flow.
I took a picture at the comp last week showing both thermos showing the exact temp at 225.
I am very happy with the way my pit holds temp once it is dialed in.
I subscribe to the KISS principle. I worked for me

Re: Pit Input
Yeppers, I have a reverse flow and a regular offset. The reverse flow does eat a bit more wood than the other, but it cooks great. It's just a personal preference in what you want. If I was building or buying a new pit, I could most likely go with tuning plates.
