Here it is boys! Done with it for now. It can be used 3 different ways and smoked with or cook with coals at the same time. The smoke box up to the first door on the pit is the smoker...after that first door it is welded up solid. The other two doors on the pit is the "coals" part of the pit. We put in a tray that you can slide in and out when you need to add coals to the fire. So you can smoke...cook with coals...or do both all at the same time.
Let me know what you think!
Thanks,
Jerred

Think ya incorporated some good ideas into it. Brisket and YB certainly look like she's working well!

Built in shade is a good idea. Looks like it's producing some good food.

Nice pit Jerred, I like the flexibility, and it looks like it put out some outstanding Q!

Re: Done...for now!
Thanks guys! I am happy with it for now. We are already looking at dual axels, water tank/sink, burners, etc. My last cookoff was the Snookfest. July is a screwed up month for me...but I will be looking for a few to do in Aug.
Take care!

Re: Done...for now!
Looks good! I have cooked on pits with roofs many times and they are great, but in summer it gets even hotter cause the roof holds heat in....
