On your horizontal offsets, the firebox should be about the same size as the pipe you are using. I.E. a 24" cook chamber would have a 24x24 firebox.

I saw the Stumps SW 223 once which is a single wall vertical smoker with an offset firebox. The cook chamber on it is 20x20x36 if I remember right. It looked like the firebox on it was about 18x18.

A 24x24 would easily work for you. A 20x20 would probably work fine since the smoker will be insulated. I have a Stumps GF 223 which is the insulated vertical and the charcoal chute on it is about 6x6x36. However the charcoal only burns about 6-8" up the chute.

I just verified some measurements.

The SW 223 cook chamber is 20x20x36 and the offset firebox is 18x18.

So I would say for a insulated cook chamber the size of yours 20x20 should be fine.
