Now that's different!

I guess the top compartment is the exhaust?

That's the second cabinet smoker I've seen this week. The other one used a smaller two drawer cabinet for a firebox.

Pretty good idea. Would be good for sausage and bacon. Electric hot plate on a thermostat, with chips in a cast iron whatever. I can see that working.CF :D

And who can forget the Good Eats episode "Scrap Iron Chef" where Alton did up some cold smoked bacon in the junkyard using vertical lockers for the smoker... I think both of these clips contain about the entire show, but the smoker does not appear until the second clip.

Alton can be a pain. Shortly after I got Einstein we saw an episode where he made a smoker out of a cardboard box. Needless to say the fact that cardboard boxes are cheap wasn't lost on her. I got out of it by reminding her that she could sew by hand and didn't need that Viking sewing machine either. 8)

Those pics have been around for a long time. Ole' Big Wheels brother was the guy who built that one. :D

Just goes to show that almost anything can be used to make a smoker. :D

They're using a Coleman propane stove for the heat source (the kind that uses those mini tanks). Filing cabinet walls are pretty thin, skinnier than an ECB. Maintaining temps in cold weather would be a challenge.
