Looking for mods on my Party

Postby JaCK2U2 » Tue May 12, 2009 4:01 pm

I was at a cookoff recently, and saw another Backwoods Party with some great mods. It had adjustable legs bolted to the bottom. The back two legs had wheels, so it could be moved around easily. The frame was bolted to the Party. Each of the four legs was seperately adjustable. It got the smoker about 2 foot off the ground. Anyone else seen this, or for you welders/fabricators out there, have any ideas on how to do this? I would sure like to get it done. I wish I could get a pic of one that's done, but I'm having a hard time getting a response from the other Party owners. It would help getting the firebox 2 foot off the ground. I'm not getting old, but it is harder to get down there. Any ideas?

Thanks - Jack

I know that I've seen a picture of something very similar... not totally sure if it was a BWS, but... I can't seem to find it now and I searched all of my normal haunts...

I'm sure this is not what you saw, but you can get a stand and casters ( 2 separate options ) from Backwoods for the party. The stand raises the party 10" up and with the caster option added it raises the unit a total of 16" off the ground.

Based on the pics of the factory stand, it would be easy to made one and mod it to suit your needs and a lot cheaper.
Factory stand.....$140.00
Factory casters...$190.00
...................................
........................$330.00

A stand with an angle iron top to bolt the smoker to, Front legs made from a pipe in a pipe with a set screw for adj., and an angle iron rear leg and brace to attach an axle and two tires to.

Simple drawing viewed from the side..................
