Electronic Firebox?
I have been using a smoker for about a year now with a traditional firebox. About a week ago a friend told me that their are electronic fireboxs and that all u have to do is fill up a hopper with wood chips and set the temp and how long you want it to smoke for. My first question is that do they really work and if there are any good brands out there? My second question is that do they smoke as well as a traditional firebox?

Re: Electronic Firebox?
It sounds like you are asking about a pellet smoker. These have a hopper that you load with wood pellets. They are thermostatically controlled and when needed to maintain temp, there is an auger that feeds the pellets into a burn pot. There are a few different manufacturers and models out there. I've never cooked on one, but I hear they do a pretty good job.
Here are a few to look into.
