Real Chuckwagon?

Postby Rodmaru » Mon Mar 23, 2009 10:12 pm

Looking for an original chuckwagon built from a Studebaker wagon. Preferably with a BBQ'r who can cater 50 to 75 person dinner. Must be in the DFW, Wetherford, Waxahachie McKinney area. Also looking for a venue to hold a car show at the same time (during the day!) September time frame.
Thanks!

Can't help on the wagon but the Texas Motorplex can handle the car show and catering. 972-878-2641 between Waxahachie & Ennis on 287.

Not real sure what a Chuckwagon built from a Studabaker is, but there is a feller named Terry Chandler that owns a place called Freds Cafe off of 7th street in Ft. Worth. He was actually featured on Food Networks Diners, Dives and Drive ins (or whatever it's called). Not sure if it's actually aired yet.

Anyways, he does authentic Chuckwagon cooking. You may want to try to get in touch with him.

Here's some data about the genesis of the chuck wagon, and a couple of images below.
