Stopped by the local Tractor Supply store today and came a cross a great deal. Been looking at buying the side fire box for my char-griller and happened to see they had one left and all their BBQ stuff was on clearance. Anyways there wasn't a price on it, so I carried it up to the checkout to get a price and they couldn't find it in the system. Called the manager over and she said "Will you buy it for $25?" Since it retails for $60, I handed over the cash and walked out the door.
On another note, I cut out the pieces for my fire basket in the UDS I've been working on all summer. Should get it welded up in the morning. Only thing left is to get some ball valves for the intakes and start drilling holes. Hope to get that done in a week or so, maybe over the long weekend.

bigwheel wrote:Now you got me puzzled here. What could a ball valve have to do with air intake? Seems like the few times I ever seen one they was being used for grease drains. I love to learn new stuff thanks.

On the barrel drums thats how you control the air intake. Open the vale for more air for a hotter fire.
