Hey Rat..great way to connect them pipes. Got an old chum with one which has been so co-joined in the firebox vs cookchamber aspect. Works great. No baffle needed etc. His cookchamber actually sets on top of the firebox..which if yours dont it mighty close. Prob has a two or 3 inch slit where the pieces join. Good job. I been preaching on this topic for years.

His is inbetween email addresses at the house so he hasnt seen the pics yet, but I will show em to him tomorrow. I know that he is gonna like what he sees!

He said that you tried to get ahold of him the other day, but he was out of town and sounds like y'all are playin phone tag.

As far as the plate, he is just looking for something to stick a pot of beans or whatever on. Wants it on top of the firebox.

Something like this.

Say bigwheel, I got a 6" gap in thar an was planin on puttin a baffel in thar. built one not to long ago that is identical to this one and all the reports I recieved back are great.
Take a look at the mini smoker I have posted here, it works good also but had to cut the fire source off from the main chamber, the fire will run up the pipe makin it a cremation chamber

Hey Ratty... I showed Ron the pics and he is gettin excited. He likes what he sees.

Although we have one concern... Why did you put the wheels on top and shouldn't the cooking chamber be larger than the firebox???
