Hey I was wondering, where do most of yall get your wood you Q with?
.....do most of yall buy wood from a store or or do yall find it yourselves...... and if you buy it what kind do you buy?
I mostly use wood from pecan tress on my families ranch.......

I use almost only lump but from time to time I'll use a little oak (firewood pile) or Apple/Hickory (gifts from feeding folks who walk to pay it forward) for aromatics.But I ain't buying no carbon credits....they're hard to get lit and don't burn long either.

Here in the Pacific Northwest alder is plentiful and readily available. I also use maple and apple. Seldom buy wood... neighbors and friends usually bring some over or give me the bigger branches/rounds if I help them clear storm-downed trees.
Right now chunking over a cord of maple from a tree that was blown down.
