Minion Method
Could somebody explain this to me ? And when you build your fire for your USD do you do it in the barrel or out side and the put it in the drum ? If you can't tell I'm really confused about all this stuff

I too was using this same type of method long before it got an official name and it works great in the UDS as well...
I pile the coals and wood chunks in my coal basket and lower it in the UDS. I then either start the coals with a weed burner or start a number of coals in a charcoal chimney until they are ashed over and then dump them into the basket...
Either way works.
